The ceremony took place in Montreal on November 14, 2007. The Grands Prix québécois de la qualité recognize private companies and public bodies which have stood out through the quality of their management and their overall performance. They reward firms and organizations that are constantly seeking excellence and apply best practices at all levels of the organization. The Grands Prix québécois de la qualité are managed jointly by the Quebec Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and the Mouvement québécois de la qualité.
Organizations or companies that want to participate to the Grands Prix québécois de la qualité have to present a nomination form that will be evaluated. To be short listed, the document has to receive a minimum of points before it could be analysed further. When an organization’s candidacy is accepted, a group of independent evaluators visit the organization’s offices to meet with different intervenors and to validate that the content of the documentation submitted for examination and other aspects of the organization as well are well implemented in the work environment. An additional score is given according to the results of the visit.
The Grands Prix québécois de la qualité recognition system has three levels: Mention, awarded to organizations receiving between 400 and 499 points; Grande Mention, going to organizations receiving 500 points or more, without any major shortcoming being noted by the jury; and the Grand Prix québécois de la qualité, given to organizations receiving quite outstanding results on the jury evaluation. With the Mention awarded to STAS in the category of "small and medium manufacturing businesses" with less than 250 employees, the organizers insist on congratulating STAS for the quality of its management and its overall performance throughout the years.
Once again, congratulations to everyone for your improvement, especially to Mr. Pierre Bouchard, Félix Gagnon and Marie-Frédérique Paiement, who have participated to this success in preparing the nomination dossier.
